UES
Process and Results
Universal Environmental Services (UES), the premier used oil collector and processing company in the Southeast, sets the bar with its innovative approach to servicing customers across 14 states. With a fleet of over 100 trucks, UES processes an astounding 33 million gallons of used oil, harnessing top-tier mobile technology to support the extensive collection activities of its drivers.
CORE
UES proudly serves around 20,000 customers across 30,000 locations throughout the Southeastern United States. To manage this complexity, UES needed a centralized application that provides real-time information to its users. That's where our collaboration with UES comes in. Together, we developed a core application that centralizes data from Used Oil Collection, Operations, and Re-Refinery business units, creating a seamless hub for operations.
Known as "Core," this application integrates information from various systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Navision), SCS, MFS-iOS, and Talon, offering a comprehensive view of the business. User-specific dashboards allow team members to quickly gauge operations and access detailed data to inform their business decisions. This application is the culmination of years of expertise from both the UES operations team and our developers, who worked hand-in-hand to ensure its success.
The Core platform is designed to be both extensible and adaptable, prepared to meet future demands as UES continues its impressive growth in the Used Oil Collection and Re-Refinery sectors. By connecting different operational units—from collections to labs, tank inventory, task management, and sales—Core delivers relevant information through an intuitive interface, empowering UES employees daily.
Core transforms isolated data into a unified view of UES's business landscape, enabling personnel to make well-informed decisions and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
MOBILE FIELD SERVICE APPLICATION (MFS)
UES drivers and dispatchers meticulously plan and execute their weekly collection routes. Before the integration of nuVector technology, these drivers had to manage overwhelming piles of folders and paperwork, each filled with copious details for the upcoming week's pick-up appointments.
With the addition of the nuVector MFS application, UES drivers can now effortlessly plan their weekly routes, record customer transactions in real time, collect payments on-site, and print receipts from compact Bluetooth printers connected to their mobile devices. They have the flexibility to adjust routes based on driving conditions, annotate accounts for potential contract changes, and eliminate the cumbersome paperwork previously associated with UES field operations.
These enhancements have significantly boosted driver efficiency while reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICES APPLICATION (SCS)
UES needed an efficient way to manage information for over 20,000 customers, including addresses, contact details, and contract documents. They required a user-friendly, web-based interface that demanded minimal staff training.
Turning to nuVector for its innovative solutions, UES implemented the SCS application. This provides an intuitive user interface, online access to their ERP, straightforward training, and comprehensive user access control.
The result? A significantly enhanced customer service experience, simplifying the management of customer information and elevating client interactions.
TALON APPLICATION
Transport fleet drivers have a crucial role at UES. They deliver processed base oil to our customers and collect used oil from large providers. However, the high volume of trucks entering and leaving the re-refinery posed significant challenges in managing and tracking these operations efficiently.
To tackle these challenges, UES implemented Talon, an innovative web-based application. Talon empowers transport drivers, dispatchers, plant control room operators, and lab technicians with full visibility of all incoming and outgoing trucks and railcars carrying used and base oil. With Talon, UES benefits from an online truck dispatching system, an advanced scheduling tool for transport truck and rail loading, a centralized lab result logging system, cross-platform compatibility, and cutting-edge security features.
In essence, Talon integrates previously separate processes into a single cohesive solution, ensuring that UES personnel receive the right information tailored to their specific needs.
UES PRO APPLICATION
UES boasts a dedicated sales team focused on attracting new clients and nurturing existing relationships. Sales representatives often need to discuss the latest transactions or contract changes with customers, which can vary weekly or even daily. It's crucial for the team to have up-to-date information to effectively address any customer concerns.
Enter UES Pro, our cutting-edge nuVector mobile application. This tool empowers sales personnel with instant access to customer information on any device—whether it's Android, iOS, or Windows. By connecting directly to UES's back-end systems, the app provides real-time updates on customer contracts, including current pricing, transaction history, and even a map of customer locations.
The result? A significant decrease in call-backs to the customer management center and a remarkable boost in sales performance.
